Hannah's Agility Club

Hannah and Quickie, the sheepdog. It has to be a universal truth world wide- dog lovers are very nice people. They have loaned Hannah a dog to work weekly with doing basic commands and an obstacle course. She will hopefully be able to train any future canine additions to our family. She goes once a week in small town North of Wellington called Upper Hutt.

The Bullies - Dennis, Billy and Greg - February 2009

Tessa, Caitlyn, Rebecca and Hannah perform their original play "Dennis and the Bullies". A the end the bullies figure out in fact they prefer music, ballet and rapping to bullying.

this is me Tessa and caitlin doing our great finale at the end of our play.
Tessa left Caitlin middle and do you know that person on the right, hope you all do!

New Neighbours! The Werry Family

Hannah watching Katheryn and Rebecca play chess while the Werry family comes over for a fish dinner. I bought the fish Sunday morning at the market right off the boat in the harbour watching a ray float by underneath the dock while they filleted it. The Werry family lives 1 minute away now so Katherine and Rebecca who are in the same year can walk to school together in the morning.

Chess, for all you people who hate chess out there, if a very interesting game! you need to be militarily, mentally and tactically smart. of course i must have to say i have all of those qualities and so does Katherine! ps- Daily guess- who wrote this entry???? comment on that!

Lyle Bay, Wellington

A trip to Lyle Bay with Hannah's friend Laura. This bay is around a 10 min drive away and is near the airport. It is a big a great surfing beach when the conditions are right. The water is COLD. We played rugby with Hannah's flipper in the water to keep warm as we had been watching a rugby match that weekend.
Laura right, Hannah left and ME in the middle!! the whole Rugby in the water thing was pretty cool, I would tell you to try it in your nearest lake but I have gotten some pictures from Grandpa and Granma at the cottage and, well, lets just say its much warmer here then there!!!
But if you really want to do it go to the nearest INDOOR pool and try that, if you do make sure you tell us, we love to know when our ideas are incorporated into the daily lives of others!

One Love Music Festival, Wellington

The music festival in the velodrome organized by the radio station RadioActive. We went to see the Black Seeds playing "Cool Me Down". Many people all moving to the reggae beat. And we realized that it is true that the laws of social interaction are different here...no six degrees of separation - but usually one or two. As we sat down at this huge festival we saw Kaitlyn's family Owen and Mary right beside us. Wellington has the facilities of a capital city with arts and sports and culture and infrastructure but only 250 000 people which makes everything so accessible and tight knight.

New Zealand 7's - Rugby

It happens yearly and I guess all around the world that smaller teams of Rugby players (7 on the field instead of 15) play mini matches over two days. And it has become the firm tradition for everyone to dress up and have a really really good time for those two days. It was held in the Cake Tin (named so as it is a metal circular stadium) with 40 000 people all dressed up. We missed Halloween in Australia but more than made up for the costumes at the 7's.

What a weekend of fun! It all started with getting the tickets. Tickets for this event were sold out months ago before we arrived. Our friend Kate's daughter Georgina was a ball girl for the event and found out that there might be some reserve tickets left. Her Mom Kate ended up in the hotel with all the towel clad rugby players sourcing our some tickets for us! Thanks!Kate and Simon and their kids Georgina and Tessa with Rebecca at the 7's.

The dalmation (aka Rebecca) and the Hawaiian girl (aka Tessa) and Simon and Kate at the 7's at the final night. What an upset - New Zealand lost at the last second to England!Kate and Tessa
